British 18 pounder shell case with all its markings dated 1916,no primer very nice condition shiny brass colour found on the famous Somme battlefield of 1916-1918 this would have been fired during the main summer offensive

This is a British 18 pounder shell case which is a lovely original colour. The case is in fantastic condition nicely clean still retains its shiny brass colour with no damage a very little discolour but even the inside is fairly clean and has all its original markings on the bottom of it including the date 1916 fairly clear to see and has no primer. The case was found on the Somme a very nice condition this would have been fired during the prelude to the 1st July 1916 Somme offensive the famous Western front battle.
