This is the rarest pattern German soldiers shovel head to find from the battlefield the Klappspaten or folding shovel which is in nice condition for a relic. The head which is missing its wooden handle it is in very nice solid condition it has cleaned up well it is a bit pitted and rusty but has very few rust holes or damage and missing its wooden handle from being buried but is a nice example and is perfect for display or any collection. This shovel head was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944.
