    This is a German Saxon soldiers pickelhaube well used nice original example in as found condition but missing all of its brass parts and leather peak .This pickelhaube is in nice condition for a relic it is not complete but is in as found condition and being Saxon one of the rarer ones to get hold of. This helmet is a well used example with dirt from wear and tear and has a few marks and scraps from use by its war time owner it is still its nice black original black colour but does discolor inside from the damp and wet but the leather is solid and not braking or crumbling and is in found condition which is rare find .The helmet comes from a private collection on the Somme and was found years ago barn on a Farm in the village of Miraumont on the Somme battlefield the front line of late 1916 to early 1917.It has been in a private collection until now the first time it has left the Somme since the war.A very nice original and iconic item from the famous Somme battlefield and comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards.
