    This is a lovely condition Double decal M40 steel helmet with both decals that can be seen pretty clearly but there not complete but still a very rare helmet to find with so much paintwork and decals left on it. The helmet still with blue paintwork remains it is in relic and rusty condition with rust holes all over it but nothing to bad mostly smaller holes. The helmet it is still very solid it is not braking up or falling apart at all it has no liner or chin strap and it has been nicely cleaned it is still very solid and is perfect for display or any collection .The helmet was worn by a soldier attached to the Panzer Lehr Division in one of the flak units. The helmet was recovered from a lake East of Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-45.The helmet comes with 2x A5 laminated information sheets with pictures.

    The helmet was recovered from a lake which was used as a dump site for battlefield clearance the area where the lake is, was attacked by the German 26th Volksgrenadier Division and elements of the Panzer Lehr Division they had Luftwaffe anti-aircraft guns attached to them.
