This is a Complete nose section from MARK 2 British 60 pound shell with markings these mark 2's are much harder to find then the mark 1. The shell head is in near perfect condition still with most of its original markings including the date May 1918 and still its original brass colour also the steel case nose cone which the head sits in is a nice dark colour this shrapnel shell nose cone which came from the very large British 60 pounder gun which were used in only small numbers late on in the war. This head was recovered from the the Somme battlefield of 1916-1918.A very nice relic from the famous French battlefield.
