German double maxim ammunition box with some original colour and paintwork,battle damaged found on the Somme battlefield of 1916-1918

This is a German double maxim machine gun ammunition tin which are much rarer to find then the single ones and hard to get hold off .The tin is still very solid and has lots of original colour and some paintwork but does have some rust damage The box has slightly miss shaped and is a bit bent from impact damage the lid is not attached it has ripped off but sits on the box nicely it still opens, closes but does not lock also it is missing its original carry handle the box has clear to see impact holes and dents they look like bullet or shrapnel holes it also has some clear to see original green paintwork.The inside of the box in nice condition with its original divider the whole box is in relic but solid condition not falling apart it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection and comes with A5 laminated information card.
