This is a World War I French soldiers 2nd pattern gas mask tin which is in solid condition and is dated 1918 on the bottom. The tin does not have much original paintwork as it is rusty. The lid on the tin opens and closes but very stiff. On the inside of the tin looks like some sort of wax has been put in it and has a few dents on the outside the tin is in very nice condition for a relic with no major damage. The tin was recovered many years ago from the battlefield around Verdun.A very nice relic from the very famous 1915-1918 battlefield
