    Rare to find 1945 dated German wooden ammunition box for the 8cm granatwerfer 34 mortar. wooden hinges and rope carrying handle still intact and locking catch functioning .Stencilling to lid and date to side. there is a shadow of stencilling from another box to base - must have been stacked in factory whilst paint still wet! Ply wood has delaminated a bit on lid and base but not weak or falling apart.

    acquired from a private collector in the outskirts of Berlin many years ago and has been in a private collection since.
