This is a very nice pair of parts which are aluminium air frame section very clean and a smashed section of cockpit perspex they have ripped and bent by the impact of the crash the solid sections which have been very well cleaned and lots of original colours which are perfect for display or any collection.The parts have been mounted in to a glass fronted box frame with information and lots of pictures the frame is 8 inches by 8 inches in size.The parts come from German Focke Wulf 190 number 730909 of 10/JG2 the pilot was Ruthard Von Richthofen he was shot down by a US P-51 Mustang on the 13th July 1944 during the Battle of Normandy.
The plane crashed near Argentan. Ruthard Von Richthofen bailed out safely the circumstances of his death are unknown, but it is thought he was shot on the ground by French civilians being buried near the crash site in a unmarked grave. Argentan which was still in German hands so it is thought this would be unwise to kill a German pilot in these circumstances, but such things did happen also it is possible he was strafed from the air.He was he related to Manfred von Richthofen the Red Barron possibly a nephew. He was one of at least three young members of the von Richthofen family to be Killed in World War 2. Johannes was Killed in 1941, the other was an Focke Wulf 190 ground attack pilot, Feldwebel Wolfram von Richthofen, on the Eastern Front, who was posted missing in action just a month before.
