Complete German 75mm KwK40 armour piercing round, steel shell case fired by German panzer 4 tank in the Panzer Lehr Division it was recovered from a lake East of Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-45.

This is a nice condition German near complete armour piercing round with steel shell case KwK40  fired by Panzer 4 tank. The projectile still with some of its original colour but is missing its ballistic cap the projectile is empty and inert and goes in and out of the shell case but very stiff and hard to do so. The case is steel made with some small brass wash remains it is in very nice relic but solid condition and discolored from being in the water it has some very faint maker markings on the bottom not clear to see on the bottom of the case it is complete with its primer as well.The case has some damage to the neck and has discolored mostly all over the case but with a bit of original colour as well it does have a couple of rust holes it has been very well cleaned it is perfect to display or and a rare one for any collection to get a 75mm kwk case with projectile from the battlefield. The shell case is empty and inert and the complete shell was fired by German panzer 4 tank in the panzer Lehr division it was recovered from a lake East of Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-45.The shell case comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with pictures and a marked map showing the area where the case was found. 

The shell case was recovered from a lake which was used as a dump site for battlefield clearance the area where the lake is, was attacked by the German 26th Volksgrenadier Division and elements of the Panzer Lehr Division they had the only Panzer 4 tanks in the area.
