This is a very nice merlin engine part and rare to get so large from a RAF Spitfire battle of Britain shot down. This is a very large and heavy engine case part which is 3 parts still bolted together from around a piston it sat right on top of a piston conrod and is mag allow engine case with a complete conrod bracket still attached from inside the merlin engine it has partly rotted away but nothing to bad it still has some dirt and muck attached but has been well cleaned it is 15 inches long and is 11 inches wide it still retains a lot of original colour the part has some damage from the impact of the crash but was well protected by the engine but has been cut away from a larger part it does have some rust damage from being in the English channel for 20 odd years but not to badly rusted with some light pitting it is still very solid not braking up at all and has been very nicely cleaned and lovely bit of merlin engine from a spitfire perfect for display or any collection.
