    This is a nice glass framed group of German Kriegsmarine coastal artillery soldiers dog tag, medal also German coin and uniform parts nice condition semi-relic at worst. The group which is a dog tag which is complete with readable markings there is also Russian front medal only with faint markings also 2 buttons and a belt loop with uniform belt fragment they have no real damage nice relics and still retain some of there original colors they are very solid and nicely cleaned relics they have been nicely cleaned and are perfect for display or any collection.The parts have been mounted in to a glass fronted frame with information and pictures the frame is 13 inches by 13 inches in size. The group were recovered from the Atlantic wall defense system near the port of Saint Malo in France and were properly worn by one of the Krigsmarine soldiers on the gun crews of the wall defenses. 

    The battle for the walled city Saint Malo and the fortress positions began on August 4 1944 Allied intelligence had believed that there were 1000 German soldiers holed up in the area enclosed by the old walls and had bombed it heavily, however, when the city surrendered on August 14 only 83 German soldiers were taken prisoner. The commander of Fortress Saint-Malo, Colonel Von Aulock, surrendered all German forces in the area on August 17th 1944.
