This is a very rare unfired Complete German long 15cm high explosive shell with a GrZ 14 Artillery shell fuse 45 mm percussion fuse-detonator, double effect with delay or without delay, initial model 1904 and 1914 modification dated 1916 used on high explosive shells, false head high explosive shells, smoke and gas shells on artillery guns.This shell was fired by 15cm S.F.H 02 or the later S.F.H 13 heavy field howitzer which is in nice condition with the fuse having some of its maker markings,numbers The steel case has some of its original black painted colour with a bit of discolor it still has its brass driving band in place its nice brass colour but with a few chunks missing the outer case is only lightly pitted with no holes or damage the fuse which is its dirty brass colour does screw in and out but is very stiff and needs a spanner to do so.The projectile is completely empty and inert it has been well cleaned and overall perfect condition for display and very rare one for any collection.The projectile was found many years ago on the on the Ypres Battlefield in Belgium 1916-1918 and has been in a private collection ever since and comes with a A5 laminated information card.
