    This is a fantastic condition internal engine part from the Spitfire's Merlin engine. This part is a engine piston sleeve that is complete and in lovely condition it has been cut down one side at some point to get the piston out the sleeve has its lovely shiny colour the sleeve has no damage from the impact of the crash it is still very solid not braking up at all it still has all of its original colours and has been very well cleaned it is in fantastic condition and is a very rare part from this famous aircraft which is perfect for display or any collection and a rare one for the collection.The piston sleeve is from British RAF Spitfire number N3060 flown by Pilot Officer P.J.C King of 66 Squadron. The Spitfire was shot down by German Messerschmitt bf109 in a dogfight over the Medway area of Kent at 4.00pm on the 5th September 1940 during the Battle of Britain. This is a nice engine part that comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with pictures.

    The Spitfire crashed off Hoo Marina in the Thames Estuary by Pilot Officer P.J.C King baled out but the parachute failed to open and he was killed. Some of the spitfire was recovered at the time of the crash the rest of it was recovered in the 1980’s.
