This is a very rare find from the battle of Britain it is a complete engine piston from a German JU87 stuka dive bomber. The piston is complete it has a bit of damage from being in the sea for years and being removed from the sleeve but nothing bad at all the engine piston also has a bit of damage from the impact of the crash with a few dents and knocks. The piston which still has its conrod attached and has some original colour and some faint to see but there maker markings it has been very well cleaned it is in fantastic condition and is a very nice example of a piston from this famous aircraft which is perfect for display or any collection and a rare one for the collection this heavy engine part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards.The engine piston is from inside Junkers Jumo 211 engine that was recovered by fisherman in 1970’s from the English Channel near Selsey Bill and is believed to be from.
German Ju87b-1 stuka dive bomber of 3/stG2 which was shot down at 1.00pm on the 16th August 1940 during the Battle of Britain. The plane crashed into the sea west of Selsey Bill it was shot down by RAF Hurricanes of Number 43 Squadron and 601 Squadron. The crew Unteroffizier P.Bohn and Obergefreiter J.Bader both were picked up by Royal Navy launch and captured.
