    This is a large group of Sections of radiator grill still there original colour from underneath the aircraft next to the undercarriage legs. There are 13 parts in all and they are about 10-12 inches long they still retain a lot of there original shiny aluminium colour they have ripped and smashed by the impact of the crash but they are still very solid not braking up at all and have been very nicely cleaned they are perfect for display or any collection and unusual to get spitfire parts like this. These parts come from RAF Spitfire number L1067 named Blue Peter was shot down on the 30th August 1940 the pilot was Squadron Leader S.L Denholm. The parts come with a A5 laminated information card with pictures.

    The spitfire of 603 squadron was in combat with Messerschmitt 110’s over the Kent coast near Deal when it was shot down Squadron Leader bailed out safely the plane crashed at Hope Farm Snargate. The plane was recovered on the 22nd September 1973 and parts from the cockpit were given to George Lovell Denholm he was born in 1908 and died in 1997.George Denholm who had shared in bringing down a Heinkel 111 on 16th October 1939, the first German aircraft to be brought down on UK soil in WW2. On 12th March 1940, he damaged a Dornier17 off Aberdeen. On 26th June, he claimed a probable Heinkel 111, on 3rd July a shared Ju88 bomber plus a Messerschmitt 109 destroyed and another probable on 28th August. On 18th September, he claimed a Messerschmitt 109 damaged, on the 27th a shared Messerschmitt 109 destroyed, a probable Messerschmitt 109 and a shared probable Messerschmitt 109, on 20th October a Messerschmitt 109 damaged, on 11th November a Messerschmitt 109 destroyed and on 29th November a Messerschmitt 110 destroyed.
