    A fantastically rare piece of 1944 D-Day Horsa glider outer wing framework recovered from landing zone 'N' (LZN) to the north of Ranville from Operation Mallard - excavated during house construction to the North of Ranville in 2018.

    A fantastic large piece of steel outer wing framework with brass plate . Has been well cleaned and is in solid condition. An amazing addition to any D-Day / airborne forces collection.

    approximate dimensions - 29cm x 17cm x 7cm. 

    Operation Mallard was the third airborne operation on D-Day involving the 6th airlanding brigade and was to reinforce the 6th airborne division on the left flank of the British invasion beaches. 246 of the 256 gliders dispatched arrived safely at the two landing areas LZW and LZN in Normandy at 21:00hrs.
