    This is a German army rabbit ear periscope lens housing it in relic condition but still retains most of its original black paintwork and retains some original colour in places.The lens and glass is all missing but the outer case is pretty much complete it is in relic condition but still solid this is a fantastic recognizable relic and a unusual find from the battlefield it has been very nicely cleaned perfect for display or any collection.The periscope part would have been used by the Panzer Lehr Division as it was recovered in the area they attacked along  the Longvilly road near Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from battle of the Bulge 1944-1945 and comes with A5 laminated information card.

    The battle on the Longvilly road took place on the 19th December 1944 when an American force under Colonel Cherry came under attack by German Panzer Lehr Division along the road between Longvilly and Bastogne the Americans lost around 200 vehicles in the battle.
