    This is a nice find from the battlefield a complete German[Gewhrsprenggranate] 98K schiebecher small high explosive rifle grenade  which is empty and inert and has some clear to see original yellow and black paintwork remains. The grenade fuse is complete and goes easily the case it is rusty and pitted with a rust hole the metal case with the bottom ring is bakerlite made the bakerlite bit is very nice condition still its original colour it is very solid not braking up a cracking condition relic that has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection.The grenade was recovered from rubbish pit dug either by the Germans during the battle or in battlefield clearance after the battle found near the town of osweiler in Luxemburg this area was attacked by the German 212 Volksgrenadier-Division during the battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-1945 during the Ardennes offensive and Hitler's last offensive in the West.

    The 212. Volksgrenadier-Division was formed in October 1944 from the partially formed from 578 Volksgrenadier Division. It fought on the Western Front suffering heavy losses during the Battle of the Bulge and at the Siegfried Line, it surrendered to the US forces at the end of the war.
