    This is a British 25 pounder artillery gun shell fuse number 119 for high explosive shells wooden crate.The box is complete other then the inside racking the wood is still solid with no major damage still retains its original paintwork and has original red and yellow stamped markings on the out side of the box with black stamped marking on lid and dated May 1943 .The box did have wood worm but has been treated also has its metal wire carry handles the lid still opens and closes and the catches work properly the box has stamped dated 5-43 on the side of it along with many other markings all clear to read a fantastic condition example of this hard box to find.The box comes from Normandy so would have been used during the fighting in the Normandy battlefield in the summer of 1944.
