SOLD British army 25 pounder artillery gun 4 shell carry box dated 1942 with original paintwork, markings recovered from Monte Cassino the Italian battlefield of 1944 from a local museum which closed down in 2015

This is a British army 25 pounder artillery gun 4 shell carry box which is in nice condition still with a lot of its original green paintwork and some of black stamped maker markings the marks that are there are mostly readable some better then others but no much on the inside there is no racking. The box is dated 1942 on the lid and on the sides in black markings the lid which still opens and closes fine and it locks properly and has both its metal carry handles it only has light rust in places and no real damage and very rare to get a box from the battlefield in such good condition that has cleaned up so well. This box was recovered from Monte Cassino the Italian battlefield of 1944 it was recovered many years ago and has been in a local museum since which closed down in 2015.A very nice relic from the very famous Italian battlefield.The box comes with A5 laminated information card.
