This is a German Army pair of wire cutters/piano wire pliers which have a lovely clear maker marking. The pair of barbed wire cutters which do still work they are in very nice and solid condition with some surface rust and pitting but do still have some original black finnish they have been nicely cleaned and are overall a nice example of these cutters battlefield found. The cutters were recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944. A nice rare relic from the famous Normandy battlefield.
