    A super rare camouflage metal ammunition box for the German 5cm mortar 'granatwerfer 36'. Large amounts of the original camouflage paint remaining to the outside of the box , some paint also inside. Hinge and handles function although the wood is missing from the original carry handle. The interior frames that held the mortar bombs is intact although the sliding bars that locked them in place are jammed - these could be freed with a bit of time and effort. There are numerous small rust holes through the box but it is sound and solid .With a bit of work this could be made to look quite stunning and would be a super addition to a collection.

    The box was purchased from a local collector at one of the June Normandy militaria fairs in 2023 - only sold as he was downscaling his collection.
