Carl Zeiss Rhihenbildner RB 50/30 camera film magazine from a Messerschmitt BF 109 G-6/R2 reconnaissance aircraft work number 230319piloted by Ofhr. Manfred Blank that was shot down by a soviet Lavochkin LA-5 fighter on February 17th 1945 – the first day of Operation Southwind.
The aircraft was recovered and the camera and film were examined by ACRSA (Association for Aerial Cartography and Remote Sensing) – a detailed report with many photos can be found on the internet by google search of ACRSA Messerschmitt.
The film magazine is in good solid condition with amazing paintwork remaining! Identification tag still attached and even the small spirit level bubble is still working! Film metre dial is broken but still legible.
