    This is a engine piston conrod ring that sat right inside of a piston conrod ring this is the type with no bolt holes which is 4 inches long and still retains a lot of its original colours. The part has no real damage from the impact of the crash it was well protected by the engine it does have some rust damage from being in the English channel for 30 odd years but not to badly rusted with some light pitting it is still very solid not braking up at all and has been very nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. The engine part comes with A5 laminated information card and is from inside Junkers Jumo 211 engine that was recovered by fisherman in 1970’s from the English Channel near Selsey Bill and is believed to be from

    German Ju87b-1 stuka dive bomber of 3/stG2 which was shot down at 1.00pm on the 16th August 1940 during the Battle of Britain. The plane crashed into the sea west of Selsey Bill it was shot down by RAF Hurricanes of Number 43 Squadron and 601 Squadron. The crew Unteroffizier P.Bohn and Obergefreiter J.Bader both were picked up by Royal Navy launch and captured.
