    This is a large group of parts from a famous British RAF Lancaster bomber.This is a group of 3 parts which are 2 large sections of mag allow engine case still with a lot of there original steel/silver colour and a nice clean aluminium airframe section which has lots of original black paintwork remains the parts still retain most of there original colours and have been very well cleaned they have ripped,bent and smashed off by the impact of the crash they are perfect for display or any collection the size of the parts are 5-9 inches in size .The parts come with 2x A5 laminated information sheets and comes from British RAF Lancaster mark 1 number HK552 of Number 115 Squadron. The bomber was shot down by a German night fighter and crashed at Montchauvet 9 Km SSW of Mantes-la-Jolie in France. The RAF bomber which was part of a force of 337 bombers with various targets over Paris with this bombers target being a major road bridge in Paris between Massy and Palaiseau on the 8th June 1944.

    The bridges destruction would seriously hamper the movement of reinforcements to the invasion Front.
    To avoid loss of French civilian life orders were to wait for the Master Bomber to verify that the markers were correct before bombing took place.
    There was thick ground haze and the Master Bomber went u/s.
    The deputy took some time to get it all together and in the meantime the force of 337 bombers sent to various targets around Paris waited.
    It was a clear night and the night fighters descended.

    All apart from one of the crew members were killed in the crash.
