    The bomber was engaged on minelaying sortie over the Thames estuary and shot down by No.264 squadron Defiant night fighter pilot officer F.D.Hughes and sergeant F.Gash. The plane crashed and exploded at Creaseys farm at Hutton near Brentwood at 2.00am on 16th October 1940.Leutnant K.Newald and Gefreiter H-J. Granetz bailed out and were captured unhurt. Unteroffizier K.Glaser and Gefreiter J.Twrdik were both killed.
