Glass framed Very rare airframe section with original gray/black paintwork remains from German Messerschmitt 262 jet plane work number 37064, damaged by allied fighters and crashed in Bassum south of Bremen on the 6th November 1944

This is a nice and rare glass framed aluminium air frame structure section that still retains some of its original colours clear to see. The airframe section has some of its original black and gray camouflage paint work remains from the under section  of the aircraft The part has ripped off by the impact of the crash they are in relic but solid condition and have been nicely cleaned perfect for display it has been mounted in to a glass fronted box frame with information and lots of pictures and map the frame is 12 inches by 12 inches in size. The part comes from German Messerschmitt 262 jet plane work number 37064 damaged by allied fighters and crashed in Bassum south of Bremen on the 6th November 1944 and is a very nice relic from the very famous jet fighter and rare to get such a large relic.

Helmut Lennartz was the pilot of ME262 number 37064. At the time they encountered US fighter ace Major R. Foy. The jet was flying with another ME262 the two had been aloft long enough to be very low on fuel, and had hoped to land at Achmer or Hesepe. However, a swarm of U.S. fighters in these areas precluded them and the two made for Bremen, using only enough power to keep ahead of Foy. As Lennartz was on final to Bremen but both engines quit due to fuel starvation the plane was also damaged by allied fighters and crashed in Bassum south of Bremen on the 6th November 1944.
