This is a very rare glass framed nice section of Japanese officers dark green uniform jacket remains This uniform relic which still retains its original dark green colours it is a bit dirty and are pretty much undamaged but is still solid and not braking up of crumbling it has been mounted in to a glass fronted frame which is a nice size at 10 inches long and 8 inches wide it is perfect for display or in a collection. The jacket remains was recovered from the Island of Guadalcanal from the 1942-1943 battlefield.

In early August 1942, hoping to halt the expansion of the Japanese in the South Pacific, Allied forces landed on a small island in the Solomon Islands: Guadalcanal. It would take six long months of gruelling battle before they would wrest control of the island from the enemy. The victory was of critical importance, the moment when the Allies put the Japanese on the defensive for the first time. It was also hard-won, involving intense combat in the skies above and the waters surrounding Guadalcanal. It was fought between 7 August 1942 until 9 February 1943. The Guadalcanal campaign was costly to Japan strategically and in material losses and manpower. Roughly 30,000 personnel, including 25,000 experienced ground troops, died during the campaign. The Americans had around 15,000 dead and wounded soldiers.
