    British soldiers large shovel head which has some remains of its wooden handle the shovel has dried concrete still attached to it properly used in bunker construction.The shovel is in relic but solid condition it is not crumbling or braking up and has been well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection.This standard army issue shovel has been found in a barn in the village of Pys which was German rear area until Allied advance made it front line area in September 1916 on the famous Somme battlefield.It was found around 30 years ago and has been in a private collection ever since very rare to find in this good a condition from the battlefield.
