    The cylinder is in great condition with a lot of original paint markings and stencilled information. weapon type , manufacturer code and date stamped into the metal of the lid locking tabs. Approximate length 1 meter!

    The 8.8cm SK C/30 U was used as deck gun on some early war U-boats, mounted forward of the conning tower. During the early war years these guns were used to encourage the surrender of independently routed merchant ships or to sink ships damaged by torpedoes.
