    German soldiers M40 steel helmet, with battle damage to right hand side rim and super remains of green paint over most of the outer surface and a fantastic eagle decal on the left. Very relic condition with a large hole in the side. The helmet is in very relic condition with a large hole rusted through the shell on the left hand side where it laid on the battlefield until recovered. Part of the liner band is present held in place by spilt pins. The remaining green paint makes it a great display piece with striking battle damage to the rim caused either by a small shell fragment or bullet. The decal remains are clear to see also so a fantastic display piece from the battles of the eastern front, Recovered from the Demyansk Pocket battlefield in Russia 1941-1942.
