    A fantastically rare piece of 1944 D-Day Horsa glider !  Lashing stirrup that held the seatbelt for one of the airborne passengers! Recovered from landing zone 'N' (LZN) to the north of Ranville from Operation Mallard - excavated during house construction to the North of Ranville in 2018.

    A fantastic piece that will be an amazing addition to a D-Day  / airborne forces collection.

    Operation Mallard was the third airborne operation on D-Day involving the 6th airlanding brigade and was to reinforce the 6th airborne division on the left flank of the British invasion beaches. 246 of the 256 gliders dispatched arrived safely at the two landing areas LZW and LZN in Normandy at 21:00hrs.
