This is a hard to find rare 1917 pattern number 106 fuse for chemical shell [a gas shell fuse] fired by the 18 pounder artillery gun. The shell fuse is not complete but is in fantastic condition with all of its original brass colour and most of its maker markings clear to see even the date March 1927 this is a nice solid condition fuse which is perfect for display or any collection and is very rare to get one recovered from the battlefield. The fuse was used by a artillery gun in the BEF[British Expeditionary Force] which comes from the 1940 Dunkirk pocket recovered many years ago in the famous pocket and is a very nice relic from the the German invasion of Europe in 1940.
