This is a totally rare find in this condition which is fantastic a large aluminium airframe section with pretty much all of its original paintwork and original colours it has gray and black paintwork. This is a rare airframe section which is a wonderfully clean part it has ripped off and bent up by the impact of the crash and is in relic but solid condition it is 13 inches long by 10 inches wide in size.This is is a very rare one for any collection and is perfect for display. The part comes from German Junkers ju88 night fighter of 4./NJG 3 B4+OA shot down by return fire from a RAF Lancaster bomber on the 25th April 1945.The night fighter crashed at Iveland Aust-Agder and is one of the last aircraft shot down in Norway or possibly even on whole of the western front.The part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with crash site pictures of what it looks like now. The parts have come from a private collection which the items were collected many years ago directly from the crash sites he visited and found including surface finds or some aircraft that were dug out and recovered all these parts now available for the first time.
This nightfighter, based at Kjevik, was shot down by RAF Lancaster bomber of 463.Squadron RAAF at 23:01pm on that night. The burning Ju88 crashed near by the farm Åmland. The badly burnt bodies of the crew were found the next day. Feldwebel [Flight Sergeant] Kurt Gross. a Unteroffizier [Sargeant] Reinhard Johnsen. Feldwebel [Flight Sergeant]. Otto Müller.
The Lancaster, RA542 code JO-Z, was also badly hit by the Junkers "Schräge Musik",and F/O A Cox had to make a forced landing at Sätenäs airport in Sweden.
The Lancasters target this evening was the oil refinery at Valløy. This was to be the Bomber Commands last raid with heavy bombers during the war. 50 civilians and over 80 Germans were killed in this raid at Valløy. A total of 119 airplanes (107 Lancasters) participated in this mission.
