This is a German 8cm Mortar 3 shell carry case base half missing its lid which is in relic condition but with some remains of white stamped maker markings on the outside and not to much rust damage and holes  The box half is near complete but it does have some rust holes and damage but not that much it is in nice condition for a relic still solid it has a lot of its black paintwork inside very clear to see and its bomb holder brackets in place the box still has its carry handle the case has been very nicely cleaned and is perfect to display and nice to find from the battlefield. The box was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944. A nice rare relic from the famous Normandy battlefield and it comes with A5 laminated information card with picture.
