British artillery 25 pounder brass shell case dated 1940,nice condition semi-relic recovered from the El Alamein battlefield of late 1942 during the North African desert campaign of 1940-1943.

This is a British artillery 25 pounder brass shell case dated 1940 and the primer has some markings but no date it has been very well cleaned but with a bit of discolour perfect to display. The case is complete it is very solid it still retains its original shiny brass colour but has dulled down throw being buried it has its original stamps and maker markings on the bottom of it which are fairly clear to read and complete with its primer,the case has a few small dents in it nothing more.The shell case was recovered from the El Alamein battlefield of late 1942 during the North African desert campaign of 1940-1943.The relic was found and recovered in around 2007-2012 by the Egyptian-Sahara.com expeditions and tours company who specialized in the El Alamein battlefield.The relic comes with 2 x A5 laminated information cards with pictures including of the original flyer for the Egyptian-Sahara.com expeditions and tours company with pictures of some of the items they recovered in the early 2000's this relic was purchased directly from them when they were operating in around 2007-2012.

The battle was fought near the western frontier of Egypt between 23 October and 4 November 1942, El Alamein was the climax and turning point of the North African campaign in the Second World War. The Axis army of Italy and Germany suffered a decisive defeat by the British Eighth Army.
