    This is a complete round German 75 mm PAK 40 shell for the famous PAK 40 anti tank gun used on all fronts by the German army. The shell has a armour piercing projectile it is its ballistic cap it is in nice condition a bit better then relic there is no maker markings the projectile also retains a lot of its original colour but is pitted and goes in to the shell case but is stiff but with more cleaning. The case is steel made it is in relic but solid condition the case does not have any rust holes and the only damage is a dent in one side it has been very nicely cleaned on the bottom it is complete with its primer and has some of its maker markings still readable including the date 1943 the case still has some original brass wash colour but has discolored from being in the lake bed it is a bit pitted and rusty but is a nice condition relic which is perfect for display or any collection it is empty and inert and was fired by a German pak 40 anti-tank gun in the panzer Lehr division.The shell was recovered from a lake East of Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-45.The shell comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with pictures and a marked map showing the area where the case was found. 

    The shell was recovered from a lake which was used as a dump site for battlefield clearance the area where the lake is, was attacked by the German 26th Volksgrenadier Division and elements of the Panzer Lehr Division they had the only Pak 40 anti-tank guns in the area.
