    This is a German Army issue barbed wire cutters in battlefield recovered condition.These wire cutters which do not work they are rusted solid still covered in dirt and muck from being recovered a very nice solid relic and a very nice example of these standard issue mid war German Army barbed wire cutters.The cutters were recovered from woods near the village of Flers on the Somme battlefield of late summer 1916. Flers was the first village captured using tanks in September 1916 during the battle of the Somme.
