High altitude oxygen bottle from inside the fuselage of German Dornier Do17 bomber of KG76 work number 2596 that was shot down by RAF Spitfires of 602 squadron on the 7th September 1940 during the Battle of Britain. This bomber was on a photo reconnaissance mission over the London docks. It was attacked by pilot officer E.W Aries of 602 squadron also by flying officer G.C Peters of 79 squadron. The bomber spiralled out of control and collided with Hurricane of 234 squadron.
The bomber crashed on fire into the stream at Sundridge near Sevenoaks in Kent at 6.00pm on the 7th September 1940. The crew of the Dornier were Leutnant G.Schneider Unteroffizier W.Rupprecht and Oberfeldwebel K.Schneider were all killed and Feldwebel E.Rosche baled out and was captured lightly wounded.
