    This is a rare to find group of spitfire merlin engine parts 4 of them in all they are all in nice condition for smashed battle of Britain spitfire relics. The parts have ripped, bent and smashed in the crash and still retain some of there original colours and some black paintwork remains and have been very well cleaned perfect for display or any collection. They have been mounted in to a glass fronted box frame with information and lots of pictures the frame is 12 inches by 10 inches in size. The parts come from British RAF Spitfire number P9422 flown by Squadron Leader Pinkham shot down, 5th September 1940 and crashed at Birling near Maidstone during the Battle of the Britain during the battle of Britain

     British RAF Spitfire number P9422 flown by Squadron Leader Pinkham shot down on the of 5th September 1940 and crashed at Birling near Maidstone in Kent during the Battle of the Britain. Eleven Spitfires of the Squadron led by Sdn Ldr Pinkham took off at 09:47 hours on 5th September to Patrol Hornchurch at 15,000ft. The enemy formation of 40 German Dornier 215’s and 40 Messerschmitt 109’s were sighted over the Chatham/Ashford/Medway/Maidstone quadrilateral this is the combat were he was shot down and killed.
