This is a totally rare find in fantastic condition which is a large aluminium made door with most of its clear to see black paintwork .The part which is the rear gun turret door still has some of its cockpit perspex in place but most of it has broken away but the part which is in overall lovely condition and still retains a lot of its original colours which is very clear to see the panel has ripped and bent with some damage by the impact of the crash it is in nice solid condition and has been very nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection the part is 22 inches long and 20 inches wide. The part which is very hard to find i have never had one before the part comes from RAF Halifax bomber LK899 of 161 Squadron which crashed on return from Special Operations Executive weapons drop to the French resistance at 5:25 am on the morning of 17th December 1943. The bomber belly-landed in the mud of the south side of the River Deben at Felixstowe due to unbroken cloud to the ground trying to land at RAF Woodbridge.
