    This is a very rare British complete 6 inch shell fired by heavy field howitzer which is a high explosive shell which is in fantastic condition with the fuse having all its maker markings, numbers and is dated November 1917. The steel case has some of its original colour and yellow paintwork remains it still has its brass driving band in place its nice brass colour the outer case is only lightly pitted with no holes or damage the fuse which is its shiny brass colour and screws in and out of the projectile perfectly. The projectile is completely empty and inert it has been well cleaned and overall perfect condition for display and very rare one for any collection.The projectile was found many years ago on the Somme battlefield of 1916-1918 and has been in a private collection ever since and comes with a A5 laminated information card.
