    This is a Russian IS-2 Josef Stalin tank main track wheel spacer,nicely cleaned after recovery.The spacer which sat in the middle of the wheel as seen on the second information card is in relic but solid condition it is rusty but solid and has been well used and is a very nice example of this spacer which is perfect for display or any collection and a nice size at 4 half inches wide.The wheel spacer was recovered from near Kaunas in Lithuania from Battles around the City in August 1944 during the Russian offensive in Operation Bagration. The spacer which comes with 2x  laminated A5 information cards with pictures.

    Operation Bagration which cleared German forces from the Belorussian USSR and eastern Poland between 22 June and 19 August 1944. The operation resulted in the almost complete destruction of an entire German army group, with the loss of Army group centre’s Fourth Army, Third panzer Army and Ninth Army. The Kaunas Offensive covered the operations of Chernyakhovsky's 3rd Belorussian front from 28 July to 28 August, towards the Lithuanian city of Kaunas, subsequent to their completion of the offensive against Vilnius. By 30 July all Wehrmacht resistance on the approaches to the Neman River had retreated or been annihilated. Two days later the city of Kaunas was under Soviet control.
