    This is a large section of armoured structure from a Russian IS-2 Josef Stalin heavy tank .The section which we are not sure from exactly where on tank it is from it could be a large hinge of some sort it has bolt holes around the edge it has ripped of the tank by the force of the explosion it is a very large size at 11 inches long it is in relic but solid condition rusty but not braking up it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection and rare to get in such nice condition part from the famous Russian tank. The structure section was recovered from the site of a Destroyed IS-2 near Kaunas in Lithuania from Battles around the City in August 1944 during the Russian offensive in Operation Bagration. The engine part which comes with a laminated A5 information card with picture.

    Operation Bagration which cleared German forces from the Belorussian USSR and eastern Poland between 22 June and 19 August 1944. The operation resulted in the almost complete destruction of an entire German army group, with the loss of Army group centre’s Fourth Army, Third panzer Army and Ninth Army. The Kaunas Offensive covered the operations of Chernyakhovsky's 3rd Belorussian front from 28 July to 28 August, towards the Lithuanian city of Kaunas, subsequent to their completion of the offensive against Vilnius. By 30 July all Wehrmacht resistance on the approaches to the Neman River had retreated or been annihilated. Two days later the city of Kaunas was under Soviet control.
