This is a nice condition German soldiers M40 helmet lovely relic that has no leather liner but still has part of its liner ring in place and has a maker stamp number 65 in the back rim.The helmet has lots of its original green paintwork very clear to see the helmet has rust damage and hole in the top of the shell is rusty and pitted but it is very solid and not braking up or falling apart at all it has been very well cleaned with some chemicals to help clean and make the paintwork stand out it is perfect for display or any collection a very rare to find in this condition from the battlefield. The helmet was recovered from an old German gun pit position for a 10.5cm LEFH 18 field howitzer used by the 107th Panzer Brigade or supporting Fallschirmjager troops used in the battle of Helmond during the British Operation Market Garden the Offensive 22nd-25th September 1944 in the Netherland.The helmet comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards.
