    This is very rare and a nice relic with a brass maker marked plate with very clear markings it is a world war 2 British smoke float used by coastal command for air sea rescue.The smoke float is rusty but solid it does have some small amount of rust damage with also with some original yellow paintwork that can be seen it has been nicely cleaned and is in nice solid condition a real one off for that gap in the collection and perfect for display or a rare one for any collection it is 20 inches long and 6 inches wide in size and comes with A5 laminated information card.

    When World War 2 broke out with France on 3 September 1939, Trier Airfield was placed on alert, but no Luftwaffe aircraft were assigned until May 1940, during the buildup of German forces prior to the Battle of France there were Messerschmitt 109’s also Messerschmitt 110’s and Dornier Do 17’s bombers all stationed there.
