    U-boat deck gun 8.8cm SK C/35 ammunition cylinder - found at a flea market in Lorient, Brittany France. Cylinder Dated 1941 with a label from its last re-fill in 1944.The container is in fantastic condition with a working locking mechanism on the lid - container made of aluminium  with a brass locking ring and steel handle. The best I have ever seen of a very rare and desirable U-boat container - perfect for any Kriegsmarine or U-boat collection! Measures just over 81cm tall and approximately 13cm wide.

    The 8.8cm SK C/35 was the standard deck gun on the type VII U-boats mounted forward of the conning tower. During the early war years these guns were used to encourage the surrender of independently routed merchant ships or to sink ships damaged by torpedoes.
