This is one of the rarest helmets i have ever had a Ultra rare German stormtroopers M18 pattern troop painted camouflage helmet which is in relic condition and missing part of its top section but still a cracking find. The helmet is still smooth to the touch with surface rust in very few places the shell is not complete on the inside of the helmet very little paint but there is some remains of the green paintwork. This helmet still has a lot of its original brown and green camouflage paint work with the thick black dividing stripes with some white and red paint remains mostly on the front painted over the camouflage possibly re used as medics helmet but what ever the fact its original camouflage unbelievable rare. The helmet has no chin strap holders as the M18 had its chin strap holders attached to the liner rather then the helmet it is missing its leather liner and chin strap but these M18 helmets are very rare to find and especially a stormtrooper used one battlefield recovered. The helmet is in lovely solid condition it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection and a very rare one to fill in a gap in the collection. This helmet has come from a private collection on the Somme battlefield but originally was recovered on the 1918 Somme battlefield part of the German spring offensive. The helmet comes with a A5 laminated information card.
