American army boot recovered from the woods in the area of the battle on the longvilly road  - 19th December 1944. Was in a local private collection until leaving the area for the first time in 2020 .

It has  been left in as found condition as cleaning would lose the character and possibly cause damage.

The "Battle on the Longvilly Road" refers to a crucial engagement during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, where American forces, primarily from the 10th Armoured Division's Combat Command B ("Team Cherry"), fought fiercely against German Panzer Lehr Division troops to defend the road leading into Bastogne, Belgium, specifically the stretch between the villages of Longvilly and Mageret; this battle was critical in attempting to prevent the Germans from capturing Bastogne by blocking their access along this key route
